„Robodock was created in 1998 as cultural self defense and has expanded to one of the most inventive cultural festivals in the world. At the same time, Amsterdam has less and less to offer for a large scale eruption of unpolished creativity. The burning of the firebird symbolises Robodock’s swan song: the burning of the old Fenix will put an end to the old festival form, to make room for a new, creative durable future.“
